Happy Day

Happy Day! Wow. It's been awhile since I've said that and been grateful for what I have. Truly grateful. Life has been a challenge lately, but I'll muddle through. Today was just one of those days where everyone smiled and made me happy! It seems that everyone I saw was glad to see me - complete strangers~ I so needed this. Anyway, it's fall and it's my favorite time of year. The mornings are very cool now and the days are perfect! I have been working on something different for a change. I love fabric and make all kinds of little art quilties, etc. but I have never made a traditional quilt - let alone a big, bed-size quilt. I have been on a hexagon pieced-quilt making frenzy...photos tomorrow. This is going to take a very long time to make - I guarantee. I'm not even sure I'm doing this the easiest way. Oh,well. I'll figure it out. So, for today I will leave you with a few recent photos.
1 - a few quilts from our local quilt show - Quilts on the Lawn
2 - clouds in the sky - this was incredible...
3 - sunflower from my garden
4- strawflowers from my garden

Giveaway Winner Selected

Well - there were only three commenters on the giveaway post~ I feel fortunate that a few people read!! Marj from Cowgirl Goods was the first name out of the bowl so she wins, but I will also send Dawn of The Feathered Nest and Artgurl some goodies as well! Thanks so much! I asked about the best part of autumn~ to me it's the changing colors of the trees, the crisp evenings, perfect days and the (hopefully) lack of snow! I have posted a picture of a few of the giveaway goodies - but that's not all~ Send me your addresses, you three, and I will get these mailed out this week~

KC Willis Giveaway

Before I post my giveaway photos (which still are on the camera) I will mention that KC Willis is having a fantastic giveaway. Get on over to her blog and check it out~ She has posted her workshop schedule for 2009 and 2010. She has the most adorable studio EVER (photo above). I can't wait to drive down and take a class. She's about 9-10 hours away - so I'm going to make it happen! She has a great line-up of guest instructors, like Sarah Fishburn and Joanna Pierotti ~ Go to her Studio Retreats page here. If you pay in full up front for the workshops you will get a 20% discount! She also has Collage Camp for those of you not able to make it to Colorado! Fun, Fun, Fun!
